Hi!
My name is Heather Robynne
I am a yogi, teacher, nature enthusiast, and sound healer. Sound therapy has become the guiding rhythm of my life in recent years, a discovery I made while traveling in Indonesia. Since then, I've ventured to nearly 50 countries around the world, engaging in diverse healing traditions across various cultures. I cherish weaving these rich experiences into my offerings. My passion lies in sharing my sound practice with both my local community and beyond. I've received training from teachers in Vermont, British Columbia, and my hometown of Ottawa. I consider myself a perpetual student and a dedicated enthusiast of learning. It's a true honor for me to share this practice with you.

What is Sound Therapy / Sound Journey?
A sound journey is akin to a soothing sonic massage for the nervous system. Practitioners employ a variety of therapeutic instruments and the human voice to facilitate desired states such as relaxation, heightened self-awareness, and energetic balance. It's important to note that sound is not considered a standalone healing agent but is believed to create an optimal environment that enables the body to engage in its natural healing processes while promoting a tranquil and centered state of being.
How Does Sound Therapy Work?
Sound therapy operates through a phenomenon known as entrainment. During a sound journey, the sounds received can induce a shift in our brain state, transitioning from a state of alertness and anxiety to one of relaxation and serenity. Entrainment involves the synchronization of two distinct rhythmic patterns, such as the instrument's vibrations and brain activity, resulting in a harmonious alignment. For instance, when specific instruments like crystal singing bowls with their sustained, drone-like tones are utilized, the brain and body gradually synchronize with these sounds, fostering a deep sense of calm and serenity.
By the way, if you struggle with traditional meditation, many individuals find sound baths to be an excellent mindfulness alternative. There's no need for active participation; simply allow yourself to be present and experience the soothing sounds and vibrations.
